Rescue Lab was proud to be a part of Jeff Horwitz's reporting from the Wall Street JournalInstagram Connects Vast Pedophile Network (free version). This June 2023 article reported on how Meta hosted a wide set of users focused on harming children, and how their recommendation system help form connections among users. See further reporting from BBN Bloomberg TVKCBS Radio San Francisco, and Ars Technica. The article inspired actions by the US Senate's Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. Additionally, U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) also requested information from Meta.
